Disposable Scalpel with Handle & Cover

After searching my local stores and quilt shops, the best I could come up with was a blade only -- that's right, no handle. It also cost me $5.95 (plus tax).
It worked like a champ - but it was just too dangerous to use without a handle. A friend glued 2 pieces of plastic to the handle, but the rough edges drove me nuts.
I located a local medical supply store and found they didn't carry this particular blade, but were able to provide me with the
manufacturers information.
The manufacturer was quite happy to sell to me (was I ever surprised -- I thought I had to be in the medical field). The catch was that I had to order by the box and each box contains 10 scalpels.
I placed my order and posted to the various groups to which I belong that I had these scalpels available. Was I ever surprised to find there were more people who wanted them than I had scalpels ordered. Within a few hours of my post, I had requests for 25 scalpels! Needless to say, I called the manufacturer back and ordered a total of 4 boxes. By the end of the next day, 38 were gone, leaving 1 for me and 1 for my friend.
